Thomas Walsh

Thomas Walsh began his career in law enforcement as a patrolman in 1996 with the Monmouth Beach Police Department and moved up through the ranks until retiring in 2021 at the rank of Chief of Police. During his tenure as Chief of Police, Walsh implemented numerous programs and policies which positively impacted the physical and mental health and wellness of the agency’s employees.  Some of these programs include the implementation of a more “employee-friendly” work schedule, a mental health program, an annual physical examination incentive program, and a resiliency program. Walsh served the members of his agency as an NJSPBA State Delegate from 2001 to 2006. Then in 2017, he graduated from the NJSACOP Command and Leadership Academy. Walsh has attained a B.A. in Law/Justice Studies from Rowan University and an M.A. in Administrative Sciences from Fairleigh Dickinson University. His achievements include the agency’s Meritorious Service Medal and accreditation through the NJSACOP as an Accredited Chief Executive.
